Our Board

SBNA Members elect its Board of Directors at the annual meeting during the month of May (or as close to it as possible) and votes in Officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer) to serve for two years. Elected positions are staggered to ensure continuity, and our bylaws allow for a minimum of three and up to twelve Board of Directors.

Elections

We would love to have you join our Board! For general Board service, the commitment is listed below, plus generally a one hour quarterly Board meeting on the 3rd Thursday of February, May, August and November at 6:30 pm on Zoom.

Areas of current interest of the Board include: Community Building Events, Revitalizing the South Burlingame Business District, Neighborhood Cleanup, Tree Planting, Continued Advocacy in Terwilliger/Taylors Ferry Light Investment for Smart Technology at the Intersection, Burlingame Park improvements

PRESIDENT


2 year term, 3-5 hrs/month

The President is the point person for the organization, fields emails, inquiries, recruits speakers and guests of interest and Chairs the quarterly meeting. This role typically takes 3-5 hours per month depending on interest and projects.

VICE PRESIDENT [open]


2 year term, 1-2 hrs/month

The Vice-President is largely a supportive role on an as-needed basis for the President. This role is typically 1-2 hours per month depending on interest and projects.

SECRETARY


2 year term, 2 hrs/month

The Secretary is responsible for keeping accurate Meeting Minutes during the quarterly meeting and submit them in a timely matter for review by the Board. This role is typically 2 hours per month.

TREASURER


2 year term, 3 hrs/month

The Treasurer oversees the financial accounting for the organization, reports at the monthly meeting and handles any fiscal sponsorship accounts approved by the board. This role is typically 2-3 hours per month depending on interest and projects.
